3M gets $4.6 million electric-car battery grant



The Obama Dell Studio 1537 AC Adapter administration has awarded $4.6 million to 3M Co. to develop a long-life, low-cost battery to be used in electric cars. The grant, announced Wednesday, is part of the government's effort to build Dell Studio 1535 AC Adapter more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly vehicles.
The project at the Maplewood-based Dell Studio 15 AC Adapter giant is one of 12 focused on electric car batteries. Overall, the Dell Studio 1737 AC Adapter advanced research project dispensed $175 million for 40 projects in 15 states.
